Christian Pilgrims have walked the Camino de Santiago, or Way of Saint James, since the Middle Ages seeking enlightenment and transformation. Over the past 20 years, the Camino has experienced a revival of sorts as young and old of all faiths take up the journey for the unique experience it offers.

After almost 38 years in the IT profession, I left my traditional career in search of a “second act” – a new set of goals and different way of life. I chose the Camino de Santiago as a focal point for my transition because it offers a combination of adventure, physical challenge, and spiritual renewal.

While there are several different routes, I will be walking the French Way that begins in Saint Jean Pied de Port, France, and extends almost 500 miles through the widely varied terrain of northern Spain to my destination, Santiago de Compostela.

My deepest thanks to Beth, my family and friends who have supported and encouraged me in planning this journey. I hope you will enjoy traveling with me through my blog!
