I walked the 15 miles to Frómista under cool, rainy conditions. Thankfully the trail was quite flat after an initial steep climb.
On my way up that first hill, I had an encounter with a guy about my age from California. During our brief conversation, he let me know that he was going to smoke a joint when he made it to the top. He claims that Spain has the best product, so he is enjoying the Camino from that perspective. As we talked, I noticed that he had to stop every 50 feet or so to gather himself. By the way this 8:30AM! See kids…this is why you shouldn’t smoke (pot). 😉
Much of the day the trail roughly followed an old canal system that originally was used for transportation and farming, but is now used only for irrigation.
My destination, Frómista, does not seem to have any remarkable qualities, so I’ll keep my blog for today short.
How’s the body holding up Chris? Any blisters?
